Its a cool idea except if you don't have a perfect 12X12 room, its a waste of money. All the walls need to be flat. No windows, closets, ect. The stars and planets are very blury. Almost too hard to read. The batteries run out after an hour or so as well. They didn't play with it again after the first night. 32 of 35 people found the following review helpful: Where's the thermal exhaust port so I can blow up this horrible product!!, By = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Uncle Milton Star Wars Science Death Star Planetarium (Toy) Yet another inferior quality "toy" unscrupulously pushed onto 2nd generation Star Wars fans! Just like any action figure produced in the last 10 years, (Y'know, the ones that can't stand up or hold any weapon!) the expectations far exceeded the result. Whether the other dome actually projects "Earth's sky" is up for debate. It... Rooms larger than approximately 10 by 10 ft will result in out of focus stars. Nonetheless, I found that my oldest (7 years) boy was quite captivated and invested quite a bit of time exploring all the sky features he could recognize. So, in the spectrum of scientifically-inspiring toys for kids, I would rate this one as reasonably effective. |
