I just received my MegaPlex MG-50 and unwrapped it and set it up. Then I plugged my iPad into it and fired it up and I am in heaven. I easily was able to show a photo slide show and played music from my iTunes during the show. Then I moved on to Keynote Presentation and was able to show one of my Keynote (PowerPoint) presentations. This is what I have been looking for. I needed to be able to do Keynote (PowerPoint) from my iPad when I teach, but I had found no other projection device that would allow me to do that.I then got on the internet, went to YouTube and opened a video there and projected it from my iPad through the Epson MegaPlex. It was fun. The picture quality is excellent, and at 2200 lumens the brightness works well. This projector was built around the concept of being paired with the iPad/iPhone/iPod, but since I own none of those I have been using it in a more traditional set-up, hooked up to my PC. If you want, you could also hook it up to your gaming machine or cable box, but due to spacing issues, I never attempted it.It took longer to string up the black-out curtain we decided to use as a screen than it did to hook up the projector. Our choice of screen is not the proper choice, sure, but it was better suited than the wall for producing a good picture. And a good picture it was. No matter the film, action-heavy to "could probably use a few more lights on set", we got a clear, crisp, bright picture. We also attempted some gaming on it and while the image was just as good with films, the text proved too small to read without difficulty. The first thing to be surprised by is how sharp the quality of the projection is. AMAZING.The software caused me some difficulty. It was to be on the projector itself but did not initially load. After turning on the projector, the setup folder for the USB is supposed to appear in the finder. A LOT of swearing followed this alleged event. In short order, calling customer support provided a lot of talking with few results. This model is incompatible with a USB direct connection, which is why the software did not appear on my laptop. In order to hook it up to a laptop, you have to be able to connect a VGA or a mini DVI connector to adapt to the computer to an HDMI connection to the projector. This was easy enough to find once I knew what I was looking for. My husband and I both do PowerPoint and other modes of presentations through our laptops, mostly because of the complexity and the amount of data being used and so it was interesting to try...
